Michael Schoemaker

Michael Schoemaker received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently pursuing a Masters of Architecture from the University of Washington. Michael grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and has had a passion for architecture his whole life. Being from the Midwest, Michael has had a distinct relationship with agriculture in the city and rural areas. After exploring the relationship between agricultural systems and the built environment in the Design of Living System course here at the university, he recognized the immense social, economic and environmental opportunities urban agriculture and circular cities can have on our world. Undertaking the database management and data-visualization portion of the CCLS Lab, Michael is ready to explore the statistical-based research that comes with this expanding field of urban agriculture and circular cities.
